Let's Meet the Squire From Mother Goose, Philip Lee. Philip was one of the Stars of last years Beauty and the Beast but he is back to grace our stage once again!

How did you start your career as an actor?
I started when I was very young, about 6 or 7, having singing lessons. I joined the county choir, and the National Youth Choir, then realised that you could do it as a job! So I did my A-level in Theatre Studies and went to drama school.

Can you tell me a few acting career highlights?
I’ve been in Carousel at the Barbican, I played Mr Snow which was good. I’ve been in quite a few operas in the West End. I was in La Bohème, which had won an Olivier Award, and Carmen as well.

Is this your first time performing in a pantomime?
No! I was at Millfield last year in Beauty and the Beast, and then before that I’d done Robin Hood. I’ve done two pantos that were a bit unusual - I did Tutankhamun The Panto, and Beowolf The Panto! So I’ve done some unusual ones, I played a camel and I played a Monster.

What was your first pantomime experience like?
I watched my first panto when I was about 4, and then I’ve done it every single year. I remember I was desperate to be one of the children that went up on the stage, like they do at Millfield, I always wanted to be one of those children! You can’t be every year, obviously - but I thought that’s what I want to do - I want to be in that! I remember how exciting it was when the music started at the beginning and the drums would go, it was so incredible.

What was the first pantomime you’d watched?
I don’t remember...but I do remember being so excited to find out what the panto was going to be each year.

What would you say your all time favourite pantomime character is?
I like the Dame – she’s very funny, very kind and well-meaning.

What job would you do if you wasn’t an actor?
I dont know! Maybe I would be a Teacher.

Who would you want to play You in a film of your life?
I often get told I look like Damien Lewis - So maybe i’d choose him. And he’s a good actor as well.

Who would you love to sing a duet with?
Ooh - I’m going to Say Celine Dion would be fun, to see if I can sing louder than her!
