Platinum has the Power to Make a Change!

Platinum Performing Arts School has this year been named a finalist in the UK ‘Dance School of the Year’ awards. The School that is based at local Millfield Theatre is also celebrating the phenomenal success of its students this year. The Enfield based performing arts school has managed to secure a record number of scholarships and placements for its pupils at the UK’s top performing arts schools and colleges.

The school celebrated its 10th year anniversary last year and is located in Edmonton. Director Nina Lewis Hart and her team have managed to provide a focus and create opportunities and ambition for many local young people who otherwise would not have had them.

PPAS are committed to providing students with top quality training and preparation for the professional dance and performing arts industry. Classes offered include street dance, ISTD ballet, ISTD tap, jazz and contemporary dance styles, along with drama, singing and musical theatre. PPAS have also been running boys’ ballet classes for many years now and are pleased to be able to offer ballet classes to a number of young boys who would not normally have the opportunity to access these classes.

PPAS is an accredited dance school with qualified and industry performing arts and dance teachers /professionals and offers a specialist curriculum. This year, dance students achieved a phenomenal 100% examination pass rate. The school also offers a teacher training programme accredited by EDM.

The school made news again last year when 11 year old pupil Dylan O’Mahony was selected out of thousands of youngsters to perform live on stage with Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour. This year, young Dylan was selected to dance alongside ‘Diversity’ in the Britain’s Got Talent live final. Another pupil, 9 year old Jenai Anderson, has recently worked alongside world renowned choreographer ‘Paris Goebel’.

“The success of Platinum pupils has been phenomenal this year and we are extremely proud of what they are achieving with us” said director Nina Lewis Hart. The Platinum ‘Perception’ dance troop were this year selected to perform at ‘Move It’, the UK’s biggest dance event where they made quite an impact and were scouted., also Platinum youth were finalist in Dance make your move and raised over £1000 for the British Red Cross .Platinum has also recently relaunched the ‘Platinum Casting Agency’ which represents a diverse range of talented young people for acting, modelling and television work. The school continues to thrive and Nina Lewis Hart has big plans for its future.
