Throwback Thursday 14th May 2020 - Emily Davies

Last week we heard from Grace about her roots at Millfield, this week it's her sister, Emily's turn:

"My name is Emily Davies and this is why the Millfield has been a huge part of my life.

I first started dancing at the age of 2 at Suella Academy in the Millfield house which I left in 2016.

I first auditioned for Jack and the Beanstalk in 2010 and got to join the cast. This was the first pantomime I’d taken part in. I then went back in 2011 to audition for Beauty and the Beast and then Mother Goose in 2012. I was grateful enough to dance along side my sister on the same team of younger dancers, as well as my mum chaperoning nearly every show. We loved the opportunity to be able to have this experience together.

In 2016 I went on to train at performing arts college for 2 years. Here I also began to get my teaching qualifications. After I left college I went on to perform at tribute nights, in music videos, being a character at Lego land, dancing on 'The Only Way is Essex' and more.

I have taught dance at many different local dance schools.

My family are my biggest supporters, especially my granddad. They would always be front row watching me wherever I ended up dancing.

The Millfield is a huge part of our lives and we call it our “second home”. We spent so many years dancing there and meeting new people in the industry. It gave me the inspiration to create a career doing what I love."

It's great to know Millfield has played a role in helping such a hugely talented family!
