Three of the Mayor of Enfield's favourite bands will perform Live In Concert at Millfield Theatre on Saturday January 27th to raise funds for her charity Enfield Cares.
Red Sky July, Van SusansandJFK Blues have all confirmed they will perform for Cllr Christine Hamilton's charity concert. Cllr Hamiltonis a huge fan of Live Music and regularly attends the concerts of all three bands. She is delighted that they will all join together to form one great night of music.
Red Sky Julyare husband and wife duo Ally Mcerlaine(guitarist in Texas) and Shelly Poole(one half of Alisha’s Attic) along with former model Charity Hair (The Alice Band). Red Sky July’ssound is a hazy blend of Alt-Country and Americana and they have been added to the playlist on BBC Radio 2 as well as appearing on a whole host of radio and TV slots. The band have supported artists such as; Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, 10CC, Tom Jones, Beth Nielsen Chapmanand Jools Holland. Festivals they have performed at include Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and T in the Park.
Red Sky July released their third album ‘The Truth and The Lie’in March 2016. Recorded in their own studio, the band were joined by Grammy nominated, Nashville based singer songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman (Elton John, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson). On release the album debuted in the top 3 of the Official UK Country Charts and garnered rave reviews and airplay. Renowned for Sound heralded it as “a modern country masterpiece.” The album has received critical acclaim across the board from the likes of The Guardian, Maverick Magazine, Guitarist, Daily Express, R2 and BBC Radio 2 to name but a few.
Van Susansare a Pop/Rock band residing in London’s leafy suburbs. Consisting of Olly Andrews, Will Showler, Holly McLatchieand brothers Rob DullawayandEd Dullaway, the group have a burning passion for melodic harmonies and tales of love and heartbreak, accompanied by both beautiful acoustic rhythms and assertive electric guitar riffs.
Van Susansare signed to the independent label, Beatnik Geek Recordsand cite classic mid-nineties/early noughties bands such asJack’s Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, Something Corporate, Dashboard Confessional, Jamie TandIncubus. Their line-up includes the usual lead/backing vocals, guitars, keyboards and the occasional sounds of a violin played by Holly. In the run up to their debut release, the band spent their days writing and touring relentlessly, performing at established venues like London’s Indigo 2 and Clapham’s Grand.
JFK Blueare a stylish rock/blues band with a fresh take on well-crafted rock and blues, with stirring songs and superb musicianship. These are musicians with one aim - to play their style of blues and rock with freedom of expression, not to get hung up on genres but to play music that they like. In doing so their music is contempory yet has a retro feel which brings familiarity and joy.
People have commented that they have a Southern Rock sensibility combined with melodic songs with great hooks.
